Genotyping for MMRRC#11533 was performed on ONE homozygous male mouse that was maintained in a homozygous state by intracrossing within the strain for two generations relative to the original mice submitted to the MMRRC-UNC archive by the donating investigator. The mutation was derived in R1(129S1/129X1) ES cells. PCA analysis indicated that the background for the mutation is most consistent with 129S1/SvJ so this was selected as the background for reference 2. When compared to C57BL/6J (Reference 1) and 129S1/SvJ(Reference 2) genotypes, MUGA genotyping indicated that 28.11% of the background was homozygous for C57BL/6J markers and 33.78% of the genome was genotyped homozygous for 129S1/SvJ markers including a 40.33Mb interval on chromosome 5, spanning the Areg locus. 34.97% was heterozygous and 3.14% not did not match either background (unknown). Genotyping for this single sample is consistent with the information provided by the donating investigator on the strain detail sheet and indicates that the genetic background of this line is very heterogeneous.
